Our Products & Unique Process
We brew our Kombucha in a small facility in Fairfield, Iowa. Shaktea Kombucha is brewed in small batches using high quality filtered water, organic and fair trade teas, and organic cane juice in superior leach-free brewing vessels where we closely monitor the brewing process and do the bottling ourselves. Our kombucha is gently coaxed into growing in a warm room with the subtle rhythms and enlightening melodies of the Veda – the eternal music of nature. We believe that everything has an effect. That’s why we take special care to nurture a harmonious, peaceful environment where Shaktea Kombucha is created. We care a lot about what goes into our product and that’s why our Shaktea Kombucha is certified USDA organic.
When you purchase Shaktea Kombucha, because it’s a raw, live beverage(we would never pastuerize away the benefits!), you may notice small strands of culture or a larger amount (technically called a SCOBY…affectionately called “the blob,” “floaties,” “the multi-vitamin,” or “the good stuff”) in your bottle. You can drink this along with the beverage, discard it or start your own kombucha brew.
This is no ordinary strawberry lemonade. We take pureed whole organic strawberries, known to be rich in vitamin C, fiber, folic acid as well as potassium, and add a twist of organic lemon juice to our Shaktea Kombucha to craft a blend that hits your taste buds with a tart punch.
Widely known as the king of fruits and considered a symbol of life in India, mangoes are a great source of antioxidants vitamins and minerals. We find the sweet taste of mango lends great balance to the tart kick of kombucha. Balance is key here to keep the mango from overpowering the subtle flavors of our Shaktea kombucha. The result – light and refreshing without being too heavy and juicy.

Blueberries are also rich in vitamin C –which can give your immune system a boost, not to mention this berryfruit can strengthen your vision and keep your memory sharp. So good for you we left some of the evidence in the bottle – a blend of our shaktea kombucha infused with fresh pressed organic ginger and whole organic blueberries, pureed in micro batches. Nothing refined here except the taste.
We love combining ginger with kombucha and we drink it because the flavors marry well, but it doesn’t hurt to know ginger adds additional therapeutic properties to each bottle. Ginger is known to soothe an upset stomach and ease nausea, it also possesses antioxidant effects, and inhibits the formation of inflammatory compounds as well as provides direct anti-inflammatory effects. Our organic ginger is always pressed fresh for each small batch — another reason why it pays to buy local! –and combined with organic lemon and organic lime juice to create a gingerale that’s stands out from the rest for it’s freshness and bite.
